The more I try to talk to God about a particular topic, the more He redirects the conversation toward any & everything else — “hey, look over here at this other thing going on” (mostly the created world, the phrasing from the Lord is not specific) And then I get invited into a topic I’m less interested in, begrudgingly, until my heart is turned and starts to gain trust that God has my attention exactly where it needs to be. And, if you’re like me, maybe you also need the reminder that God created Leviathans just so they can play by themselves, joyfully, where no one can see them (ps. 104). I have nothing to offer, save some recent photographs from my homeland. They do not need to be consumed, they could, however, hold a space for contemplation. God is making wild green grasses, wildflowers, foggy tree-lines, and streams of cold creek water which overflow the clay and dirt-filled banks. Every single day. The action is missed by most, but each season in full-bloom yields the most beautiful glory. Have a look and see, and do yourself a favor and listen to this Nocturne while you’re at it:
